Oh wow! It's been so long since I've posted anything here! I need to remedy that, so now is as good a time as any :)
Trinity started 3 year old preschool in September and she loves it! It can be a bit of a struggle some mornings get her up and ready in time, but once we're headed out the door and on our way, she's excited to be going! Most mornings are not a problem though, and that's a big help for Mommy when she wakes up and gets ready for the day without a battle. Makes the morning run smoother.
She has also made her first "real" friend! The pastor's daughter! She talks about playing with E every Sunday morning, and when the pastor and his wife and daughter came for supper a few Sundays ago, she was thrilled that her little friend was coming over to play! And they play so well together! Minus a few issues about sharing, but that's all part in parcel with having kids that age :D. She is also such a social girl, she definitely takes after her daddy in that department. Mommy is definitely NOT that social, Mommy is much more shy and reserved :D
She is an awesome big sister to her baby brother! Always talking to him, telling him it's all okay when he's upset or a little fussy. She is eager to help by running and grabbing his soother for him, or trying to make him smile/laugh for her. She hasn't been successful in her efforts to get him to giggle for her yet, Cohen is still particular who he laughs for.. and that is only Mommy gets the giggles. She is so bright too, it always amazes us how intelligent she is! She is sharp and catches on so quickly, far too quickly I sometimes think. She can carry on an entire conversation and you better be careful what you say around her, cuz more often than not, it'll come back at you! Lol... she remembers so easily. I often find myself being "reprimanded" by her for something I tell her not to do! Oh sheesh, sometimes Mommy's forget their manners too. My little Lovebug is just growing up so quickly, and I wish I could slow down time most of the time. My baby girl is becoming such an awesome big girl! She can challenge me and melt my heart all in the same day. She is such a sweetheart <3.
My little big man, Cohen, is going to be 4 months old tomorrow. Oh wow! That went by fast! He can roll from tummy to back and from his back to tummy. He will smile for basically anyone, especially other women! He's our little flirt! He is one incredibly content little boy! He is very laid-back and has never been fussy in public. He usually only fusses when it's naptime, or when he's bored. Going down for night has never been an issue. He gets his bedtime routine of bath, eat, and then I just lay him down. Sometimes he's already half asleep when I do, other times he is still awake and alert, but he soon falls asleep without hardly a peep. And he sleeps really well too! He goes down anywhere between 9-10:30, usually around 10, and he will sleep usually a 6-9 hour stretch each night before waking to eat. So anywhere between 4-7 in the morning. I. LOVE. IT! And then he sleeps until 9:30-10 am! He still takes about three good naps during the day, and then one or two little catnaps in between.
I estimate he is around 18+ lbs already! I haven't gotten him weighed since his two month needles, and he was 15 lbs. 6 oz then. He goes for his 4 month needles next week, so we shall see how close I am in my estimation. He is also starting to notice when Mommy eats and watches very attentively. Solids will be in his future soon :). I am slowly starting to wean him from breastfeeding to being on the bottle. He is teething and has already bitten me a few times. OUCH! He had his first taste of formula a few weeks ago and he didn't really like it at first. The look on his face was like "mom, what is this stuff? It does NOT taste the same and what is this round piece of plastic in my mouth?" He played with the bottle nipple in his mouth for a few minutes before he swallowed anything, and then he determined that he didn't really care for it. But he has gotten more used to it and will drink 2.5 oz of it at a time. I am sure that soon he'll down a full bottle of it in one feeding!
Russell is starting a new job on Nov. 2. He is going back to Canadian Tire as manager of the service/parts counters! The offer was awesome! And it's a clean job! No more working with sewer! Although, he did enjoy working with the water and water treatment for the town. Hopefully with this job, the idea of me having to find some sort of work will be off the table, but we'll see. He is a manager at heart, and he is a great manager! He is really good in customer service and has a way with people. It'll be a change again, an adjustment. We've gotten so used to the Mon.-Fri. 9-5 type jobs that he's worked for the past 5 years. Now he'll be going back to working the odd Saturday and the odd closing shift, but we're adaptable and I'm sure everything will work out just fine :). He's excited, yet nervous since so much has changed since he left his management position with Cdn. Tire 5 years ago.
As for me, I'm just busy playing wife/mother/homemaker, and I wouldn't have it any other way :). It's my life, and it's what I've always wanted to be. My children are my world. They are the reason I get up in the morning. I am fully invested in my role as their mother, they are my greatest gifts in life.
I am hoping to one day get them on the same bedtime schedule too, so that I can at least have a good portion of my evenings to myself, but that's all a work in progress :)
